Seth Godin Books, Blogs, and Presentations

When Seth Godin Speaks…
…I always listen.
Here’s what Seth had to say recently at the Search Engine Strategies 2007 (SES).
Note: At the time of this blog posting, it appears that Webmaster Radio had either A) removed the audio file or B) are making us pay for it. If the latter is true, I’d actually suggest subscribing to their service because their website is an awesome resource to keep up on the latest trends in Internet Business, Online Marketing, and SEO.
Read his Books
Truth be told, I’m not much of a reader. In fact, most of the books that I’ve “read” were actually done so in audio form on my ipod while I’m working out or driving to the bank. I really do enjoy reading Seth’s books though, for a couple of different reasons.
1. These books are interesting. Godin has a wealth of personal experience and isn’t afraid to share it. This seems to ring especially true in “The Dip”.
2. These books are short. He’s always straight and to the point. He doesn’t suger coat and gives you the straight solution.
Currently, I’m almost finished up with one of Seth’s newer books entitled “The Dip” which teaches you how to play through the pains of business and/or to know when it’s time to hang up the gloves. Here’s an official description:
Whether you’re a graphic designer, a sales rep, an athlete, or an aspiring CEO, this fun little book will help you figure out if you’re in a Dip that’s worthy of your time, effort, and talents. If you are, The Dip will inspire you to hang tough. If not, it will help you find the courage to quit—so you can be number one at something else.
I also received Seth’s most popular book, “Permission Based Marketing” for Christmas and can’t wait to check it out.
Bookmark His Blog
You can visit his blog here. I’d highly suggest either bookmarking it or adding it to your RSS viewer. He updates his blog pretty regularly with various marketing concepts, ideas, and methodologies.
Watch His Presentations!
Here’s what I think is probably the coolest thing. Run a search for Seth Godin on Youtube and Google Videos. You’ll find a ton of useful presentations that he’s given in the past. All of them are good, and certainly worth watching. Here’s one to get you started:
In Conclusion
Attend his speeches, Read his published material, and Watch as much Seth Godin footage as you can. He’s a marketing genious and can be very influential and inspirational when you need that extra kick to get the marketing ball rolling again!

Great post and I will definitely agree with everything said about Seth Godin. I’ve been a long-time reader of his blog, I read The Dip a couple months ago and I just received a copy of his latest book “Meatball Sundae” which I can’t wait to get into.

Great Blog I always have a good time reading it. Great advice too, I noticed that he mentioned the environment and profitability before. Besides the obvious ways of cutting costs by saving energy and creating good will. You know any others. What about personal money saving? It’d be great if someone knew about this site www.earthlab.com ? I have used their carbon calculator and it seems pretty legit? Has anyone else used it? They are partners with live earth and Al Gore so it must be pretty credible? If anyone else has done digging on this let me know. Oh and I got a score of 289 on their test…lower than the average in my state! Whoop whoop!
