October 2007 PR Update
For the past few weeks there has been some buzz on the Webmaster Forums and SEO Blogs that big brother (Google) was gearing up for a new round of PR updates. I always take such buzz with a shaker of salt, but it has been awhile so I became rather anxious anyways.
I woke up this morning and casually walked down the hall and into my office getting ready for a busy Monday. Low and behold, upon booting up my PC I noticed that this particular Internet Business Blog jumped from a PR0 to a PR4. Excellent!
It looks as if my clients did great as well. For most of them, their e-commerce sites had to be completely rebuilt from scratch so It will be nice to see their smiling faces.
How Did You Do?
Out of curiosity, how have your site(s) done with the recent PR update? If you did well, what do you attribute that success to?

I think I would contribute my success to networking with other bloggers an commenting on their sites. I get a lot of traffic that way. Plus my icons helped out a lot too.

It’s getting harder to tell what the value of the visible PageRank is for a site. Have you noticed a significant spike in traffic since the value changed? My guess would be no.

Ed - I have to agree with you there. As usual, there was no visible traffic increase that wouldn’t be related to the normal growth pattern of this or any of the client websites. Personally, I tend to use PR (and Alexa) as an ad selling point more than anything else!
